the heart behind every piece
Kias & Tracey
Founders
We are privileged to be on this journey where, together with our family and friends, we can build something meaningful that helps serve others and cultivates a love for teamwork, craftsmanship, and the values worth passing on to future generations.
Because meaningful work is rarely accomplished alone, building together has always been at the heart of Thousand Generation.
You are also part of our story, and we are grateful to be on this journey together.
Krista
Design & Development Lead
I began hand sewing as a little girl, stitching small cross-stitch gifts for family, and learned to sew on a foot-powered treadle machine at nine. In my teens, I followed my mom’s passion for designing and sewing custom clothing for friends and family, and later drafted a line of garment patterns for home sewers. I've been teaching sewing to children and adults for over 20 years and love to see the joy on their faces when they complete a project crafted with their own hands. At Thousand Generation I draft, test, and refine the designs for every garment we make.
Aurora
Designer
I've been sewing since I was young, everything from my own wardrobe to custom wedding dresses. I love designing and making clothes that inspire me. At Thousand Generation, Krista and I work through our ideas together and bring them to life through fabric and fittings, on every piece.
DonnaRose
Handcrafted Lead
My love for sewing began at six years old when I hand-stitched a red heart pillow for my mother, sparking a lifelong passion for creating. As a self-taught teen, I sewed affordable dresses for young mothers while building my skills, and by sixteen I was working at Cloth World, advancing to assistant manager by eighteen.
I soon launched a full-time custom sewing business, taking on a wide range of projects—from tailored suits and wedding gowns to formalwear, costumes, and home décor—while also teaching sewing classes to young girls.
After starting a family, I continued sewing as both a creative outlet and a way to serve others, making garments for friends and clothing for my children, all of whom I taught to sew; today, my oldest daughter runs her own handcrafted sewing business.
Currently, I lead the handcrafted line at Thousand Generation Apparel, mentoring a multi-generational team of sewists and personally ensuring the quality of every garment. Sewing has remained a constant thread throughout my life, connecting generations, shaping my career, and bringing lasting joy to those I create for.
Hunter
Operations Assistant
I’ve been part of this project from the very beginning. Along the way, I’ve helped set up our warehouse and storefront, and even traveled with my parents to India and Bangladesh as we worked to establish our manufacturing partnerships.
Today, I help run many of the operations behind the scenes—packing orders, answering emails, maintaining the website, building systems, and tracking down whatever is needed next to keep things moving smoothly. No two days are quite the same, which is part of what makes it so rewarding.
Thousand Generation has truly been a family effort, but it has also been shaped by the many relationships we’ve built along the way. I’ve loved seeing our family grow closer while also working alongside talented partners and friends who have helped bring this vision to life.
